BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING

 

The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Directors of Juno Isles Civic Association was held on Monday, May 2, 2005, at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church on Ellison Wilson Road.

 

q       Roll Call and Call to Order:

President Pete Lashenka called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. The following board members were present: Pete Lashenka, Wayne Hatten, Trish Estabrook, Chris Cox, Tom Wajdowicz, Jim Jackson, Thomas E. Morris, Dominick Marino, Glenn Levine, and Lucia Philipson.  Blas Contreras and Dave Mastran were not in attendance.

 

q       New Business:

Pete Lashenka read a letter from the Sapirs.  Jim Jackson would draft a letter for Pete to send to the Smiths stating “please respond by the end of the month”.  Jim also suggested that we contact our lawyer for advise on paragraph X - #2 regarding the time limit for architectural approval.

It was proposed that residents send a petition requesting information regarding the land owned by the Seminole Golf Course just north of Juno Isles.

 

q       Landscaping:

Glenn Levine would get back to the Board regarding tree trimming and irrigation.  Wayne Hatten provided names for Glenn to contact.

 

q       Secretary’s Report:

Jim Jackson stated that he hadn’t seen the final copy of the newsletter.  Pete Lashenka said that he had it and would give it to Jim.

 

q       Treasurer’s Report:

Glenn Levine reported assets at $59,929.07 with two homeowners outstanding.  The assessment letter would be available in two weeks.

 

q       Architectural Review:

Nothing new to report.

 

q       Covenants:

Dave’s e-mail on proposed changes would be sent to the attorney for review along with Blas’ information.

 

q       Community Improvements:

Trish Weaver was having a meeting with FPL at 2:30 on Wednesday.  Glenn made a motion to notify the County that we would like an extension to our agreement.  Pete Lashenka, Trish Estabrook, Chris Cox, Jim Jackson, Thomas E. Morris,  Dominick Marino, Glenn Levine and Lucia Philipson approved.

Wayne Hatten and Tom Wajdowicz did not approve.  The motion passed.

 

q       Crime Watch:

Tom Wajdowicz reported that as of April 8th the Sheriff’s office patrolled Ellison Wilson.  There were 17 events in March.

 

 

q       Social Committee:

Nothing new to report.

 

q       Web Site:

Minutes had been updated on the site up to February 2005.

 

q       Old Business:

Send out a letter thanking homeowners for improving their property. 

The Stropp letter was sent via certified mail by Pete Lashenka.

Jim Jackson made a motion to authorize Pete Lashenka to have the attorney send a follow up letter requesting compliance with the covenants.  The motion passed unanimously.

The annual report was filed with the State and the taxes were paid in full.

 

A motion made by Jim Jackson to adjourn the meeting.  Adjourned at 9:21.
