v     Old Business: Preparation for Annual Meeting

Jim Jackson said he talked with Chris Cox about joining the Elections Committee. She will not be able to serve since she will be out of town. Jim Jackson asked Dinah Washam to provide coffee and cookies for refreshments at the annual meeting. Jim Jackson asked Bob Bittenbinder to provide several copies of a list of residents for attendance, proxy, etc.

v     New Business

Resident Ellen Stropp submitted an Address Verification of 2043 Ascott Road issued by the Palm Beach County Department of Planning, Zoning and Building.

Louis Vilardo shared a response to the suggestion made last month that the oak trees on Ellison Wilson Road needed to be trimmed. Louis Vilardo said he and Wayne Hatten counted 29 trees. Power Plant quoted $1305, at $45 per tree, to trim them and leave the trimmings in the swale to be picked up by the county. Louis Vilardo made a motion to hire Power Plant to trim the oak trees. If the work cannot be scheduled close to the time the county picks up debris, Power Plant can take away the trimmings for an additional fee of $5 per tree. Bob Bittenbinder seconded the motion. All were in favor, and the motion passed unanimously. Louis Vilardo suggested all residence on Ellison Wilson should be notified before the trimming occurs. To facilitate the mailing, Dinah Washam will give Louis Vilardo the information to use the Juno Isles account with the U.S. Postal Service.

Louis Vilardo said he will get a quote to have a stump ground and removed.

Last month it was noted that an invoice for landscape services was overstated. The invoice has been adjusted by $300.

October 6, 2008 - Bob Bittenbinder made a motion to approve the minutes, as amended.  Louis Vilardo seconded the motion. All were in favor, and the motion passed unanimously.

v     Committee Reports

  • Architectural Committee – Jim Jackson

Jim reported that a meeting was held last Monday. The roofline extension at 1627 Bowood was approved, as well as a wood fence at 1794 Juno Isles Blvd.

A letter has been sent to 1880 Tudor, asking what improvements they are making and if they need to seek approval.

Jim said he talked with the Association counsel, and they said the interpretation of the Covenants does not give the Board authority to deny a deck solely because it oversees an adjacent property. Dave Mastran strongly objected, stating that the Board does have that right, according to Paragraph II. Dave Mastran expressed it is an invasion of privacy.

Dinah left at 7:35.

§         Covenants Committee – Blas Contreras

No report.

  • Crime Watch – Tom Wajdowicz

  • Social Committee – Dinah Washam
